Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to use ConnectHere, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or who have low vision, color blindness or motor, hearing or cognitive differences.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, on letsconnecthere.com. This is a goal, not a certificate: we have not had an independent audit yet.

What we do

Pages have a skip link, landmarks (header, main, footer), a single main heading and a logical heading order.
Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
Text has strong contrast in both the light and dark themes, which follow your device setting.
The page language is set and switches between English, Spanish, French, German and Hebrew (Hebrew is laid out right to left), including the labels read by screen readers.
Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall on touch screens, and text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
Animations stop if your device asks for reduced motion.
Decorative images have empty alt text. Form fields have labels.
The site needs no account, no CAPTCHA and no time limits.

Known limitations

The chat assistant is an AI. Its answers are plain text, but we cannot guarantee they are always clear, correct or free of unusual wording. Replies appear in a live region, and the behavior of that region can vary between screen readers.
Event listings come from many sources and are shown as the organizers wrote them, in whatever language they used (often English or Spanish, or mixed). Some images of flyers we link to may not have text alternatives.
Partner QR kits are PDF files made for printing. They may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
The website is available in English, Spanish, French, German and Hebrew only, although the assistant answers in the language you write in.
WhatsApp is a third-party app. Its accessibility is up to Meta.
We have tested with automated tools and by hand with a keyboard. We have not tested with every screen reader and browser combination.

If you cannot use something, or find a barrier, please write to hello@letsconnecthere.com with the page address and what happened. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to offer the information in another way when we can, for example by sending it in a WhatsApp message.

Limitaciones conocidas

El asistente del chat es una IA. Sus respuestas son texto simple, pero no podemos garantizar que siempre sean claras, correctas o sin formulaciones raras. Las respuestas aparecen en una región en vivo, cuyo comportamiento puede variar entre lectores de pantalla.
Los eventos vienen de muchas fuentes y se muestran como los escribieron los organizadores, en el idioma que usaron (a menudo inglés o español, o mezclados). Algunas imágenes de flyers que enlazamos pueden no tener alternativa de texto.
Los kits QR para socios son archivos PDF para imprimir. Pueden no ser totalmente accesibles para lectores de pantalla.

Der Chat-Assistent ist eine KI. Seine Antworten sind reiner Text, aber wir können nicht garantieren, dass sie immer klar, richtig oder frei von ungewöhnlichen Formulierungen sind. Antworten erscheinen in einer Live-Region, und das Verhalten dieser Region kann sich zwischen Screenreadern unterscheiden.
Veranstaltungseinträge stammen aus vielen Quellen und werden so angezeigt, wie die Veranstalter sie geschrieben haben, in welcher Sprache auch immer sie sie verfasst haben (oft Englisch oder Spanisch, oder gemischt). Manche Flyer-Bilder, auf die wir verlinken, haben möglicherweise keine Textalternativen.

Limites connues

L’assistant de discussion est une IA. Ses réponses sont du texte brut, mais nous ne pouvons pas garantir qu’elles soient toujours claires, exactes ou exemptes de formulations inhabituelles. Les réponses apparaissent dans une région dynamique (live region), dont le comportement peut varier selon les lecteurs d’écran.
